The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials 2014 – What an amazing experience

Not being an equestrian l had never visited the show before so didn’t really know what to expect. I just wish someone had persuaded me a long while ago this is an event not to be missed. I’ve attended a wide range of large sporting events, huge country fairs and well supported social events, but nothing quite like Burghley. It has it all in one place. The fact it is in Stamford, which turned out to be a gorgeous town with superb restaurants and hotels just added to the experience.

I read somewhere there are people who attend every day and don’t even see a horse. Perhaps that is taking it a bit far, but there are so many lovely things to see and buy l can see why it has become a shopping destination and a completely family friendly day out.

Burghley stand being set up

Setting up a trade stand, selling and talking to people nonstop for 4 days is exhausting, but it turned out to be one of the best things we’ve done in the past 10 years. What a perfect way to meet and greet so many old and new customers. The feedback and response we received was amazing and we now know everything we have planned for 2015 is right on course.

It’s often the little things which make a big difference and this year we experimented with a new style of photography. We think it’s wonderful and certainly looked great on the stand. So, a huge thank you to Eliza Boo Photography from Norwich.

Since returning from the show we’ve designed two new Pony Snuggle Sacs and will be introducing an adult range too. They may not be here in time for Christmas, but we are doing our best!

Also, a huge thank you to Sarah at for all the lovely flowers and rustic accessories we used. They really did add the finishing touch. As a wholesale grower of flowers Sarah is able to cater for large events – so anyone looking for a wedding florist should certainly get in touch.
